HokieAI
Virginia Tech’s newest university-supported AI platform, hokie.ai.vt.edu, provides metered access to vetted commercial models for generative and agentic AI.
HokieAI is available to students, faculty and staff. The platform is provided at no cost to users.
Built on Cloudforce NebulaONE, HokieAI supports teaching, research, and administration with capabilities including:
- Chat
- Drafting and revising content
- Coding
- Personal agent creation and sharing
- Document upload for analysis
- Specialized Agents (see Explore Agents menu)
- Image creation
Security and data protection
HokieAI offers a secure environment aligned with Virginia Tech’s Principles for Responsible and Ethical AI use.
Key protections:
- Data remains within Virginia Tech’s protected environment
- Data entered into HokieAI is not used to train current or future AI models
- Approved for all university data risk levels
Be sure to observe university requirements for acceptable use of computer systems, including safeguarding your login credentials and using the platform only for Virginia Tech work and assignments.
Metered usage
Usage is metered on a monthly cycle to manage demand and responsibly steward university resources. The circular usage meter is visible in the upper-right corner of your screen when logged in.
Choose models carefully, as different models consume allocations at varying rates.
Listed from lowest to highest allocation cost.
Additional models will be added as more options are evaluated.
